Send delay is the waiting time between each SMS sent as part of a campaign.
Instead of sending all messages one after another without a pause, Easify Connect waits for a random amount of time within the minimum and maximum delay you set before sending the next message.
You can adjust these settings for each connected device based on your campaign requirements.
Setting appropriate delays between messages helps maintain a steady sending pace and reduces the risk of carrier restrictions.
Here are three reasons why send delays matter:
Reason | Description |
Carrier Protection | Mobile carriers monitor messaging activity for unusual or spam-like patterns. Sending too many messages in a short period may result in your number being flagged or temporarily restricted. |
Number Reputation | Maintaining a consistent and reasonable sending pattern can help protect your phone number's reputation with mobile carriers. |
Natural Sending Pattern | Sending messages with random intervals creates a more varied sending pattern instead of delivering every message at fixed intervals. |
Easify Connect provides the following default recommendations:
Setting | Recommended Value |
Standard Delay Range | 15–60 seconds |
Absolute Minimum | 10 seconds |
Recommendation: If you're sending messages to multiple contacts on the same carrier network (for example, a list of Verizon numbers), consider increasing the delay between messages. This can help reduce the likelihood of triggering carrier spam detection.
Keep in mind that the appropriate delay may vary depending on your sending volume, carrier, and messaging activity.
You can customize the minimum and maximum send delays separately for each connected device.
Follow these steps:
Go to Device Connect on your Easify web dashboard.
Select the connected device for which you want to change the delay.
Click Adjust Delay.
Enter your preferred minimum and maximum delay values.
Save your changes.
The updated delay settings will apply to the next batch of messages. If a batch is already being processed, the existing settings will remain in effect until that batch is completed.
Note: The minimum delay cannot be set below 10 seconds.
