The Blacklist in Easify stores contacts who have opted out of receiving messages from you. When a contact replies STOP to one of your messages, Easify automatically adds them to the Blacklist to prevent further messages from being sent to them.
You can also add phone numbers manually or import a list of numbers you need to blacklist.
Use the Blacklist to manage contacts who have opted out of receiving messages from you. Keeping these contacts on the list helps prevent unwanted messaging and supports compliance with applicable messaging regulations.
Important: The Blacklist is different from Blocked Numbers. The Blacklist manages contacts who should not receive your messages, while Blocked Numbers is used to manage phone numbers you want to prevent from contacting you through Easify.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Review the available entries in the Blacklist.
Use the Added By dropdown to filter contacts based on how they were added to the Blacklist.
Select the relevant option:
All: View all blacklisted contacts.
Stop Request: View contacts added after submitting a STOP request.
Import: View contacts added through an import.
Manual: View contacts added manually.
To find a specific entry, enter a phone number or relevant keyword in the Search by keyword field.
If no contacts have been blacklisted, Easify displays a message indicating that no blacklisted contacts were found.
You can manually add a phone number to the Blacklist when needed.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Click Add New.
In the Add to Blacklist panel, enter the phone number in the Phone Number field. Select the appropriate country code if necessary.
Click Add to submit the number.
The number will be added to the Blacklist.
Only add numbers when there is a valid reason to prevent further messaging. If a contact has opted out, keep the number blacklisted unless they explicitly request to subscribe again and applicable requirements for re-subscription have been met.
If you need to blacklist multiple phone numbers, you can use the import option instead of adding each number individually.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Click the three-dot menu beside Add New.
Select Import.
Refer to the CSV template provided and prepare a file to import the contacts to blacklist.
Map the fields available in Easify to the fields in your file and complete the import process.
After the import, open Blacklist Progress to review the import status.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Progress.
Review the import history table.
The table displays:
File name: The imported file's name.
Total Contacts: The total number of entries submitted for import.
Skipped: The number of entries skipped during processing.
Stored: The number of entries successfully stored.
Status: The current or final import status.
Created At: The date and time associated with the import, when available.
Check the status and skipped count to determine whether the import completed successfully and whether any entries need further attention.
You can export blacklist data when you need a copy for review or record-keeping.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Click the three-dot menu beside Add New.
Select Export.
The contacts available under blacklist will be exported as a CSV file.
The Blacklist menu includes a Clean option. Use this option to remove all contacts currently listed in the Blacklist at once.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Click the three-dot menu beside Add New.
Select Clean.
Complete the on-screen confirmation prompt and proceed.
Check the confirmation details before proceeding, as the exact effect of this option should be understood before making changes to your blacklist.
A contact should only be removed from the Blacklist when they have explicitly requested to subscribe again and the applicable re-subscription requirements have been met.
Navigate to Contacts > Blacklist Contacts.
Find the contact you want to remove.
Open the available Actions menu for that entry.
Select Remove and follow the confirmation prompt.
Important: Do not remove a contact simply because they need to be contacted again for a campaign. Make sure their request to re-subscribe is clear and that you have the required permission to message them.
These features serve different purposes in Easify:
Blacklist Contacts: Prevents messages from being sent to contacts who have opted out.
Blocked Numbers: Manages phone numbers you want to prevent from contacting you through Easify.
If you are receiving unwanted incoming calls or messages from a particular number, see the Blocked Numbers article.
