Add an External Email Gateway

Add an external email gateway in Easify to send emails through your preferred email provider. Configure gateways such as Mailjet, Mailgun, SendGrid, Amazon SES, Mailtrap, Gmail, Emailit, Yahoo, and Outlook.

What is an External Email Gateway?

An email gateway is the email service Easify uses to send emails. In addition to the Easify Email Sender, you can connect an external email gateway and use your own email provider to send emails through Easify.

Easify provides the following email gateway options:

  • Easify Email Sender

  • Mailjet

  • Mailgun

  • SendGrid

  • Amazon SES

  • Mailtrap

  • Gmail

  • Emailit

  • Yahoo

  • Outlook

Easify Email Sender is Easify's own email sending option. The other options allow you to connect an external email provider.

The setup requirements vary depending on the gateway you select. Some providers require SMTP credentials, authentication details, or additional security settings.

Before You Start

Before adding an external email gateway:

  • Make sure you have access to the email account or email service you want to connect.

  • Have the required SMTP credentials or authentication details available.

  • Check whether your email provider requires additional security settings, such as an App Password.

Add an External Email Gateway

  1. Go to Email > Email Senders.

  2. Click Add Email Sender.

  3. Under Select Gateway, select the external email gateway you want to connect.

  4. Enter the required Sender Details for the selected gateway.

  5. Click Add Sender.

The available Sender Details may vary depending on the selected gateway.

Gateway and Sender Details

When you add an email sender, you first select the Gateway that you want to use. The Sender Details section contains the information required to connect your email account to the selected gateway.

Depending on the gateway, these details may include:

  • Host

  • Port Number

  • Username

  • Password

  • Encryption

  • From Name

  • From Email

  • Email Signature

  • Email Footer

Gmail Gateway Setup

The following example shows how to connect Gmail as an external email gateway in Easify.

Create a Google App Password

Gmail may require an App Password when connecting through SMTP.

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.

  2. Go to Security.

  3. Make sure 2-Step Verification is enabled.

  4. Open App Passwords.

  5. Create an App Password.

  6. Copy the generated password.

You will use this App Password as the Password when configuring Gmail in Easify.

Note: Google App Passwords may not be available for some work or school accounts, accounts using Advanced Protection, or accounts where 2-Step Verification is configured only with security keys.

Configure Gmail in Easify

  1. Go to Email → Email Senders.

  2. Click Add Email Sender.

  3. Under Gateway, select Gmail.

  4. Enter the following Sender Details:

From Email

Your Gmail address

  1. Enable Email Signature or Email Footer, if required.

  2. Click Add Sender.

Your Gmail account will be added as an email sender in Easify.

Use an External Email Gateway

Once the external gateway and sender details are configured, you can select the email sender when using Easify's email features, such as Quick Emails and Email Campaigns.

The authentication, sending limits, and other requirements of the selected email gateway continue to apply when sending emails through Easify.

Troubleshoot Connection Issues

If you cannot add an external email gateway:

  • Check that the Host and Port Number are correct for your email provider.

  • Make sure your Username and Password are entered correctly.

  • Confirm that the selected Encryption matches your email provider's requirements.

  • Check whether your email provider requires additional security or authentication settings.

  • For Gmail, use a Google App Password when required instead of your regular Google Account password.
