If you're having trouble importing contacts into Easify, check your CSV file format, column headers, and contact details. This guide covers common import issues, how to check import results, and how to resolve errors.
Before uploading your contact list, make sure your CSV file meets the following requirements:
File format: Easify supports CSV files only. Excel files (.xlsx) and other file formats are not supported.
Column headers: Include a header in the first row for every column in your file.
Header formatting: Avoid special characters such as underscores (_), #, @, !, and % in column headers.
Required fields: Each contact must have a First Name and at least one of the following: Phone Number or Email.
Contact details: Check that the required fields are populated and that the First Name and Phone Number fields do not contain unsupported characters.
If your file doesn't meet these requirements, correct it and save it in CSV format before uploading it again.
After uploading your CSV file, you can review the import status and results in Easify.
Navigate to Contacts → Import History.
Review the import record to check the file name, contact group, total contacts, skipped contacts, stored contacts, and import status.
To view more details about an import, click the three-dot menu under Actions and select View.
If contacts were skipped, select Export Skipped from the same menu, where available, to download the affected records for review.
Review the skipped records and correct any issues before attempting to import them again.
Check that your file is in CSV format and includes the required column headers. Make sure each contact has a First Name and either a Phone Number or Email. Also, check for unsupported characters and formatting issues.
Your file may be rejected if it uses an unsupported format, has missing column headers, or contains special characters in the headers. Check the CSV requirements above and upload the corrected file.
Import errors can occur when individual records contain missing or invalid information, duplicate contact details, or unsupported characters.
Check the failed or skipped records in Import History to identify the affected contacts and correct the relevant fields.
Some contacts may be skipped if their information doesn't meet Easify's import requirements or if the records contain duplicate contact details.
Review the skipped records using the available export option, correct the affected information, and try importing them again.
If duplicate contacts are causing import issues, review the affected records and check whether the phone number or email address already exists in your account. Use Easify's available duplicate-management options to identify and remove duplicates where appropriate before retrying the import.
If your import contains failed or skipped contacts:
Open Contacts > Import History.
Locate the relevant import record and review its details.
Export the skipped records, if the option is available.
Correct the affected rows in your CSV file. Check required fields, column headers, special characters, and duplicate contact details.
Save the corrected file in CSV format.
Upload the corrected contacts to the appropriate contact group.
Review the new import record to confirm whether the contacts were stored successfully.
Tip: Keep a copy of your original CSV file before making changes. This helps you compare records and avoid accidentally losing contact information.
